Beside the Reservoir

Dear Customer,
Firstly, I must apologise on behalf of NPower for the total lack of notification of our cable work in your area. This was due to a breakdown in communication and is not our usual method of working. I understand that this has presented some of the residents of the area with unnecessary hardship and I trust this letter will clarify the situation.
The work we are carrying out forms part of a much greater scheme to enhance the electricity supply network in your area and is expected to result in greater security of supply in an area noticeably prone to supply interruptions during periods of inclement weather.
The scheme in your immediate locality comprises the installation of underground power cables along the route of the existing overhead network and subsequently the installation of underground service cables to individual properties.
A representative from our cable-laying contractors B & D Ltd will be contacting you in the next few weeks to agree a suitable route and the excavations necessary to install the service cables on your property.
If this arrangement causes you any concern please do not hesitate to contact me at the address printed at the head of this letter.
Our contractors are also charged with making good any disturbance and damage to private property and I can assure you that I will be monitoring progress to ensure that this is in fact the case.
Subsequent to completion of the underground cable-laying there will be a short interruption to your power supply while we change over to the new system and dismantle the existing overhead wires.
I trust these arrangements are to your satisfaction and cause you the minimum of further inconvenience.
Yours sincerely,
David Vaughan
Divisional Production Manager
