Consider the strengths and weaknesses
of your character. Include the following:
- the physical description
of the character and what it reveals (e.g. Tom's strength)
- what the character says and
the way in which it is said (e.g. Gatsby's use of 'Old Sport')
- what the character does (e.g.
Jordan lies about leaving the top of the car down)
- what do other characters
say about your character (e.g. Gatsby says Daisy's voice is "full of
money.") Include the narrator's opinions.
- comparisons and contrasts
(implicit or explicit) between your characters and others (e.g. contrasts
between Myrtle Wilson and her husband)
- colours, imagery or symbolism
associated with your character (e.g. Daisy's 'white girlhood' and 'white dresses.'
- For some characters, it may
be useful to consider names.
