Drama is a popular subject at both GCSE and A-level and students are offered a range of extra-curricular activities in key stage three.

The school has a fully equipped studio theatre, with professional standard lighting and sound systems and a digital projector which can add to the design effects of the space (or turn it into a cinema!). There is also a smaller studio room for rehearsals, teaching and more intimate productions.

Family and friends are always welcome to view high quality sixth-form examination pieces, which have included, for example, Shakers by John Godber and Look Back in Anger by John Osborne. Devised work, such as the AS groups' original drama entitled The Norton Marriage (2004) are innovative and imaginative and demonstrate outstanding talent.

The GCSE productions, such as their versions of The Comedy of Errors and Our Day Out, are lively and challenging, giving all drama students the opportunity to contribute, whether as actors or technicians.

The same is true in 'drama club' where there is the opportunity to perform. Recent projects have included work on Shakespeare's The Tempest and on The Happiest Days of Your Life. Pupils attending drama club are able to develop their performance talents and also to develop communication and social skills.

Whatever your creative strengths, drama can develop them ...
