THE INNER CITY IN MEDCs

What are the characteristics of the Inner City?

Some people call this the ZONE OF TRANSITION. In the 19th and early 20th Century it was the industrial zone of the city, full of factories belching out smoke. Nearby would live the low-paid workers, living in cramped rows of terraced housing with poor sanitation and living conditions.

Now-a-days these areas have undergone and are undergoing great change as they are REDEVELOPED and REGENERATED.
