Sixth Form Library updated March 2009

Introduction to the 6th form library:

When using the library for private study students are asked to respect the rules for the use of the library this includes the quiet study area and S7.

The Library consists of a quiet study area of 45 study carrels, a number of grouped tables for individual or quiet group work and an informal reading area where the daily newspapers can be found.

There are a total of 24 computers in the library 12 in the main library area and 12 in a separate computer suite S7; the computers are connected to black and white printers there are no colour printers in the library.

The majority of the books are for reference only although a short loan may be arranged for a lesson period, overnight or for a weekend if discussed with the librarian first. There is also small collection of fiction and non fiction books available for a 3 week loan.

The library also provides students with access to a photocopier, photocopies cost 5p for an A4 or A3 copy if you would like a copy onto acetate for OHP use this will be an additional 20p.

The library rules are displayed in the library and are there to ensure that the library maintains a studious atmosphere -it is expected that all students work quietly in the library and show respect for others using the facilities.
