KS3: To develop a comprehensive
assessment programme which takes account of the new national levels
of achievement when fully published. |
To
prepare for the publication of the National levels by reviewing the
assessment criteria for each UOL. For
the member of staff responsible for each UOL to identify specific tasks,
lesson(s), and activities which could become the key focus for assessment. To
suggest creative and appropriate ways to assess these. To
identify specific Yr 9 tasks which could be used to discuss levels of
attainment. (DO) To
monitor pupil work from 'key-stone' lessons. To
ensure that display work reflects this work. |
Publication
of levels to be distributed. To
use MER meetings for staff to feedback their suggestions for the KS3 units. To
agree these tasks/activities as a department. To
produce specific resources where
appropriate for assessment work. To

To further develop the monitoring of pupil
progress in KS4. To introduce 'Assessment for Learning'
strategies to promote independent learning. To continue to develop the implementation
and effective use of ICT across the Department. (DP: 04/05) |

support the introduction of the 'Pupil Achievement Tracker' (PAT) across the
whole school. To
begin to develop end of unit assessment activities for all students in KS4.

record progress against the PAT score/grade and to explore effective ways to
report progress in line with whole school assessment. To
pilot 'Assessment for Learning' strategies of 'Peer' assessment and continue
to use 'Self Assessment' activities effectively. To

policy for the Dept. to clarify development priorities and to link it directly

accreditation of 6th Form General RE through LSC to assist the

As part of the
review of the 'Units of learning' staff will be asked to explore the
potential within each unit to develop specific thinking skills which could
enhance student involvement and literacy skills in RE. |
Within MER time
to look at strategies to enhance and develop a variety of thinking skills
across the Key stage. To pilot and
evaluate a variety of strategies which could enhance the quality of learning. To develop and
use appropriate strategies in KS4 to assist in the formation of structured
argument. |
